Apple maps satellite out of date after updating to IOS 16 from IOS 15

I waiting to update to IOS 16 from IOS 15. After installing the update of IOS 16.1.1, I noticed the Apple Maps and the maps used in Find My (assuming they are the same) have reverted to older satellite images from probably years ago. I had seen someone post this same problem back with an upgrade in October of 2021 too.

Hello jhornert,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you think the satellite view in the Maps app on your iPhone is showing an older image than expected. First, let's make sure this feature is available in your country: iOS and iPadOS - Feature Availability - Apple

Next, if you haven't already, please force close the Maps app (Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support) and restart your iPhone (Restart your iPhone - Apple Support) and test your issue with the Maps again, and then contact Apple directly if you are still having this issue: Apple Support

Cheers!
