Lost mail

Hi guys I deleted around 250 mails from a new folder that popped up "Archived mail" it appeared to all be previously deleted trash. On hitting delete suddenly it flashed up as 6700 mails and completely emptied my in and my sent box - I cant find them anywhere. I still have my flagged apple mail folder.

Any ideas please and please keep answers simple as I am not great at this sort of thing!
