Decline (or delete) future events in Calendar without declining past events

I have a recurring meeting I used to participate in, initiated by the other party. They neglected to turn off the invite after we stopped the meetings, so it shows up forever in the future. If I try to delete it, I can only choose between just this meeting or ALL meetings (including those in the past). How can I decline or delete just the recurring invites in the FUTURE?

Thank you.

Hello mesh-arc,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Please check this out:

Delete an event you own:

Double-click the event to select it, then click Delete.
- If you invited anyone to the event or if it belongs to a shared calendar, an alert appears giving you the option to notify participants of the cancellation.
- If the event is a recurring one, an alert appears giving you the option to delete only this event or all future occurrences of the event.
