For some reason I cannot set up a profile on my son's Apple Music. We have a family plan and his is the only one that I can't create a profile for.
When I go to Listen Now. Then click the picture for the profile. There are not any options to create/edit a profile.
iPhone XS, iOS 16
Wondering if your son is using iPhone, or another device, or a Mac.
You might need to check the iOS / iPad OS / MacOS software is up-to-date.
If all is in order there:
Wondering if you have set some restrictions on your son's use of the Music app:
Eg: In screenTime or Family sharing etc.
or
Set or change parental controls in Apple Music on the web – Apple Support

PS: Perhaps that previous linked article is too old to be useful.
Wondering if it would help to restart your son's iPhone (turn off , turn back on)
That can often help correct things if an app isn't working as expected.

If you skipped this step, you can set up a profile at any time.
Tap Listen Now,
then tap the grey oval "person" icon
Tap Start Sharing with Friends.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to setup the apple music profile through an iPhone, iPad,and MacBook. All with up to date software. I've tried with restrictions switched on and also without any restrictions. I have two kids, both on minor accounts, neither allows me to create/modify/edit an apple music profile for them. The reason this is a pain, is because we are trying to all be "friends" so that when we are listening on one person's device, we can just go to the "friends" shared playlist and play their mix.
I attached what it looks like when I click on the "profile icon" located on the listen now tab from my son's iPhone.
