Apple Watch weather does not display negative temperatures correctly

Hi. It seems to me that Apple Watch weather complication and the app that it launches does not display below zero temperatures correctly. Numbers show, but the minus sign is missing. I am using Celsius, if it matters.

There is really big difference between -2 and +2 celsius. During -2 the ground and snow on it is mostly solid. During +2 both ground and air is very wet as the snow is melting. Could also be really slippery because of thin water layer on top of ice, meaning you have to be extra careful when walking outside. This might not be familiar to designers in California.. 🙂

Few screenshots follow.

Complication is missing minus, shows “2”, should be “-2”.

App view shows number in the center correctly, but numbers around it are wrong.

List view also show wrong numbers, all should have minus sign in front of them.

For comparison, iPhone weather app shows correct numbers.

As a fellow Finn, can confirm this is happening to me too with WatchOS 9.1 on an Apple Watch 5.

Killing the app, booting the device and other trickery didn’t fix it, so I switched the buggy complication from Apple Weather to Carrot Weather, which works.

Before 9.1 it has been fine since the very first Apple Watch, so most likely an upcoming WatchOS version will take care of it.

(Can’t be arsed to log a bug to any system, as Apple should be big enough to do their own QA.)

I saw this when changing my language from English to Finnish – but only on some complications; e.g. Modular shows the problem but Metropolitan doesn't. Changing the watch language back to English fixed it. Let's hope Apple fixes the Finnish one soon.

And, yes, I'll report these findings through the feedback, too.
