This update drastically increases battery consumption, disabling crash detection returns it to normal. I have an iphone 14 pro.

To disable crash detection, go to Settings > Emergency SOS, uncheck “Call After Severe Crash”.
It’s incredible… iOS 16.1.1 solved all the battery issues and the 1.2 bring them back… it doesn’t have any sense at all. Phone on the desk 10% battery drain in 2.5 hours without touching it. It’s unbelievable (iPhone 13 pro).
The iOS 16.1.2 update began draining my battery. I have an iPhone 13 Pro. My phone is only 6 months old. After the last couple of updates, my battery health shows 98% capacity so I think it may have damaged my battery. Since 16.1.2 update my phone isn’t staying charged and takes forever to charge it up also. I charged it up and it took all night and was still only 97% charged. I turned off the Optimize so it could charge to 100% but then it quickly drained again. I haven’t even been able to use my phone as I normally do since this update as the battery drains so quickly.
unbelievably dissatisfied with iphone 14 battery draining issues, need to plug in for charge every hour..
Battery drains almost 55-60% over night with screen off. Disaster from apple. using this product since 2015, time to really say no to this oroduct next time…..👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Same issue on my 13 mini, I am not a heavy user and would last me all day, however since last update 16.1.2 it would go down to 30% in like 5 hrs of barely using the phone, and its warm, definitely there are some processing happening in the background…
Like this standby battery drain is worse then my android… (also no app is showing high useage….) so something mysterious and not listed is draining it…. I’m so sad I was really loving my switch to Apple.

So is Apple even going to acknowledge this obvious issue…? Or attempt to comment on this post???
This is a user-to-user technical support forum. Apple’s participation here is very limited. So, no, they are not going to comment here.
And, for what it’s worth, I have no battery issues on my iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 16.1.2.
Me too. It’s been absolutely unbelievable! With my typical use, by 8pm my battery was about 46-50%. Since the iOS update that’s dropped dramatically..For example yesterday I used my phone far less than normal as we were out shopping etc for about 6 hours and by 8 it was at 24%! Are they going to do anything about this?
since the past 2-3 updates my battery life went from 100 to 94. After the ios 16.1.2 my battery went down to a 93 and a few minutes ago i went down again🤦🏽♂️ this got me so heated because this phone is not even a year old. I bet they’ll say that it is not their fault and is because of natural usage or whatever tf they say. I got the iphone 13
I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max and it won’t be a year old until March. My capacity has gone from 99% to 97% since the update too. No way all this is normal usage. Also I have used my phone very little this morning and it was 100% at 6:30 when I took it off the charger. I’m off until after the new year but when I’m working I’m on my phone a lot and though I work from home most of the time it’s not convenient to have to have it plugged in. And if I have to go see clients… this battery performance will not work for me at all. I just hope something changes before then….
Same is happening to me. I've bought an iPhone 14 Pro a few weeks ago and battery drain is something that really worried me. I called support and they adviced me to deactivate a bunch of things, which did not work. Honestly, I have a phone to be able to make what it's supposed to do. Coming from my iPhone 13 battery was awesome so I hope they can fix this with the next update.
My partner has an iPhone 12 Pro Max with 91% capacity. We both unplugged it at the same time, mine decreased around 8% while his did not (still 100%) same amount of time and sort of the same use. I’m using an iPhone 14Pro (3 weeks old).
I used to leave my house at 6 am and not have to throw it on a charger until dinner time. I was at 16% by 1 pm with light use, yesterday.
I am using 13 pro max, battery drains super fast after 16.1.2 update. Overnight it discharges around 40%. Any tips?
My battery health maximum capacity also ruin to 96%
Sane problem except I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
