I have an iPod that only displays the apple logio.
At one point I saw a message to use iTunes to finish setting it up.
I connect to iTunes, but told I need a driver for the iPod classic.
How can I get my iPod back and useable?

Try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community. Despite the title the same steps can help with older devices. The latest build should work, but sometimes it can help to install an older build.

The iPad is an ealy model, hasn't been used (I didn't take it when travelling)
when charging, the Apple logo displays at regular intervals... and turning the unit on, produces no response...
