Target Display using HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Cable

I would like use my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) as a secondary monitor for my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012).

Can this be achieved using a HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Cable, from the HDMI port in the MacBook Pro to the Mini DisplayPort in the iMac?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
