Password would not work in login page. Changed password but can not accept terms and conditions in recovery assistant

I am unable to accept terms and conditions in Recovery Assistant. It started when my computer seemed to go a little wonky, the camera was going on by itself. I shut down the computer, when it turned back on the background picture was different and my password did not work. I tried to change my password through AppleID, after the 6th time I got as far as updating to a new password, but still could not get past terms and conditions...I have read them, fast, I have read them slow, I have read them...the button at the bottom does not turn to Accept so I can click it. Instead, without an option, I have clicked on back at least 6 times, which reboots the machine, and brings me back to the login page. My Mac is new 2022, I am not certain if it is Mojave or Sierra.

Hi Ldora2004,

To clarify, are you able to get into your account on your Mac after changing your password? Or does it still not allow you to login?

Also, run a scan in Disk Utility to locate and repair potential issues to your installation. Follow the steps here to access Disk Utility, select your disk and run a repair on it.

If issue are found and repaired successfully and you still want to reinstall macOS, try doing so again at that point.

Let us now the results.
