iPhone won't automatically connect to car Wi-Fi

The latest iOS update has fixed this issue with my phone and 13 Chevy Tahoe. It now connects automatically again

I am having the exact same issue. I have spoken to On Star a number of times and they said to contact Apple. The network seems to run fine when I select the network from the list and don't need to enter password. So far I have seen nothing new on this support group except to reset network settings and I am hesitant to do so as it would seem to open a huge can of worms. Anything new??

I’m having the exact same problem not only does it not auto connect, but even when I manually connected after a minute or two it disconnects. My galaxy S 23 ultra, however, stays connected after auto connecting without fail.

@Wayneo515 — both OnStar advisors are absolutely incorrect. They attempt to throw just enough pseudo-technical jargon around hoping to dilute the trail. But neither of those are in any way helpful/accurate.

This is an iPhone/iOS issue and it happens with various updates.

Exact same issue here. My phone will automatically connect to any network, including my other Chevrolet vehicle. However in my 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 my phone will NOT auto connect to trucks WiFi. I’ve tried disabling, renaming hotspot broadcast, deleting network from phone and re-joining. Nothing works.

IT’s not just GM! I have the exact same problem in my Ford Expedition. I believe it’s a CarPlay issue. So irritating!

Onstar has nothing to do with wifi auto connect my 2018 had Onstar and I had no issues with auto connect it has to do with Apple and GM/ Apple are working on the issue so I’ve been told

I m having the same issue and I have reset all network connections. Still the exact problem you describe. I even changed the network name of my trucks hotspot, but it will will not auto-join. It shows under "my networks" and will manually join without me having to re-enter the password, so I know it is known. I see other posts with the same issue but no resolves listed anywhere.

I'm having the same issue as well. 2019 Chevrolet with the Infotainment 3 system. Can manually join the in vehicle Wi Fi but it will no longer auto connect. Like everyone else, it will auto connect everywhere else though.

Same here. My iPhone X connected to goes f150 just fine. Got new iPhone 14 pro & won’t connect. Have to manually connect & it disconnects after a minute or so. Won’t stay connected. VERY frustrating.

Hotrod9898 - What update? iOS or OnStar? How did you get the update? OnStar supposedly updated my system to no avail. After several calls to them, the tech said it was an Apple problem and "hopefully Apple will fix it in the next update." Hard for me to imagine it's Apple since my phones connect automatically everywhere except for in my truck.

Carplay is not related to WiFi (except for the newer vehicles that can use car play via WiFi). Carplay is for projecting your display of certain apps to the vehicle screen. This issue is regarding connectivity to the vehicles WiFi hotspot.
