Hi there Josh,

It sounds like you're not receiving haptic feedback from the built-in trackpad on your MacBook Pro after updating to macOS Ventura, and we'd like to help get it working right. Great job on already disabling/enabling the haptic feedback option in the trackpad settings! Let's continue from there and rule out some other possible causes:

  1. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  2. We understand you have macOS Ventura installed, but the latest version is macOS Ventura 13.1. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.
  3. If the issue remains after performing the steps above, along with the fact you've already confirmed it's enabled from your trackpad settings, then the next step would be to let Apple Support know what's been tried as they'll be in the best position to assist further with this: Get Support

Cheers!

Hi, I have got the same issue on my MacBook Air 2018 Retina when haptic feedback stopped working after Ventura update. Apple Support refuse to believe there is some bug in update however I found a video on Youtube when a guy suggested to heat up touchpad and let it cool down.

I just bought a heat gun, set on a maximum heat option, turned off Mac, started heating up touchpad for about 2 min - 2cm above continuously moving it and never let it stay on the same place.

After I turned on Mac it didn't work, then I let it cool down and its start working again. I don't know how this helped but it works.

But remember you take risk and responsibility on yourself doing this. Try to put Mac at least on a tiles, not carpet, wood or other flammable surfaces.
