though I didn't notice it until today, system got really laggy today and I found this solution.

In addition to this, past few months I've found that Safari would hang or not connect to websites. Turning off the private relay would solve this in Safari. Coincidentally, I noticed the system lag today and just turned PR off in Safari a day or two ago. I just didn't think to go and turn it off completely in settings.

Took a few tries and the lag between clicks was hard, but in the end I was able to turn off Private Relay and the system sped right up afterwards. Just have to wait through the lag after every click.

Thanks for this solution. My security settings in Apple ID would not load because private relay was on.

How did you manage to turn off Private Relay?

Mine hangs with 'Loading' status, but I cannot click through to get to the point where I can Turn Off Private Relay.

Same here. Can‘t deactivate Private Relay. Every time I try the Preferences App gets unresponisble or hangs.
