Solution for installing Samsung ML-2165/ML-2160 on Monterey (not a question)

After struggling with this for hours and ending up in a lot of dead-ends, I finally found a solution!

Hidden on HP's website there's a list of older printers and which driver are they compatible with. I found ML-2161 compatible with M2020 and decided to give it a try and... failed. BUT WAIT. I tried again with the SL-M2026 and it finally WORKED.

Here's the link with the list:

Here's the link for the driver (I chose the macOS 12 system)

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-xpress-sl-m2026-laser-printer-series/16462610

And, if you were still a little lost after download the .dmg, here's what to do:

1 - double click the Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.06.dmg

2 - copy/paste the 3 folders in your Mac (you probably don't need to do this step, but I'm leaving it here 'cause this is exactly what I did)

3 - open the folder MAC_Printer

4 - double click the Printer Driver.pkg and run it.

If after doing this your printer still doesn't appear as listed and ready to use, go through the normal steps to install a new printer and you'll see that, this time, the software will show up on the list.

This is how it finally worked for me. Hope it works for more people out there. My Samsung is the ML-2165 model.

Mac mini 2018 or later
