I cannot see my iPad on Airplay list on my iPhone 13 Pro

I have a 5th gen iPad Air with iOS 16,2 installed, the latest MacBook Pro 16" with M1 chip, and also an iPhone 13 pro with iOS 16.2 installed. They all have the latest iOS installed and MacBook has the latest macOS Ventura 13.0.1 installed. They all are rebooted and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

iPad can share the screen with MacBook via Airplay.

iPhone can share the screen with MacBook via Airplay.

But iPhone cannot see the iPad on the Airplay list, and the iPad cannot see the iPhone either.

I tried everything but I cannot share the iPhone screen with the iPad. Please help on what to do.

While iPad and iPhone both support AirPlay, neither are AirPlay receivers.

iPad and iPhone are fundamentally incapable of being used to display mirrored/AirPlay material from another iOS/iPadOS device.

some devices support transmitting airplay those would be iphones and ipads and macs and appletvs

some devices support receiving airplay those would be homepods, appletvs

So according to your explanation, if my iPad is already receiving and sending with my MacBook, it should also receive from my iPhone as well. Is that correct? Because that's what I've been trying to achieve. Send my iPhone screen with my iPad.

For example I can send from my iPhone to MacBook Pro, but I cannot receive with my iPhone.

what I exactly need is to see iPad on the Screen Mirroring list and send the screen to iPad. It should be simple.

Have you ever tried from iPhone and MacBook to see if the aspect ratio fits? when you turn your phone horizontally, the screen changes on MacBook and it's not even full screen. It cuts the MacBook screen and perfectly fits the iPhone screen without stretching. I don't think that the problem is the aspect ratio here.

They say you can share on any device that supports Airplay. By the way I can even share MacBook screen with the iPad Air. But I cannot share the iPhone's screen.

For Mac and iPad, you presumably refer to Sidecar. This is an entirely different feature.

While iPad and iPhone both support AirPlay, neither are AirPlay receivers.

Given that both iPad and iPhone can largely access the same media and streaming services - and install and use the same Apps - being able to AirPlay between these devices is pointless.

Then can you explain how I can Screen Mirror between MacBook and iPad? And iPhone and Macbook aspect ratios are different too. Macbook is horizontal and iPhone is vertical but they share in between as well as iPad to MacBook as well. When I look at apple support page, it says you should be able to share as long as the device supports AirPlay.

Screen Mirroring uses the AirPlay service. To be clear, you cannot Screen Mirror from iPad to iPhone or vice-versa.

Consider also that the screen aspect-ratios are radically different.
