i cant activate my brand new phone

I bought brand new phone from America and when i got back to europe i couldn't activate it with Europian SIM card. Is there any way to fix this? "the SIM card that you currently have inserted in iPhone is from a service provider that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server"

You bought a phone that was locked to a carrier. Only the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. If you did not buy it directly from Apple that is why it is carrier-locked; only Apple stores and Apple online sell unlocked phones.


What model phone did you buy and who did you buy it from?
