Same here. I do not see an "Allow accessories to connect" option in the System Settings, then click Privacy & Security. I have a KVM switch connected to the mouse and keyboard. My Apple M1 Max and Ventura 13.4 is not recognizing, nor is the "Allow accessories to connect" option showing up. However, my Intel MacBook Pro 2018, with Ventura 13.4, recognizes and works just fine.

Happened here too, seemingly after updating my Mac Studio (M1) to Ventura 13.4.1 (c) - one Thunderbolt monitor isn't discovered anymore while the HDMI-connection still works. Changing HDMI-output to TB as well leads to two unrecognized monitors and the option to allow these just has disappeared - while my MacBook Air (M2) still has the option after updating to the last Ventura-release. Not quite easy to reproduce and definitely a bad sign for quality management but these software-glitches have drastically increased over the years...

USB Hub be it USB Powered or Self Powered ( Cabled to Wall Socket ) is somewhat dependent on the Chip Set In the HUB .

This became and ongoing issue starting on macOS 12 Monterey and seems to have carried through to Ventura.

Do not use a HUB but only from observation - it is " trial and error" if it ( HUB ) will or will not work

I have the same issue on MBP 2019 (Intel) after upgrading to ventura 13.2

Lenovo thurnderbolt hub is recognized, and works with keyboard, mouse and monitor.

However - Ventura will not allow full resolution of 5120x140 on a Samsung 49" monitor (except in low res mode), nor will it recognize the monitor as two sep monitors when in picture-by-picture mode.

I have researched this extensively on multiple sites and have not found a way around this .... ugh.

Very unhappy that apple releases so many bugs...

Frustratingly I have the same issue, the allow access to connect window does appear for a nano second then disappears. I noticed a flash so recorded the screen and freezes the fame to see it...?

I resolved the issue by going to the Apple menu  > System Settings. Click Privacy & Security. Scroll down and click the pop-up menu next to "Allow accessories to connect", then choose which option you want.

I have the exact same issue for both my work/personal laptops (2019 models) ever since updating to Ventura. No ability to select/allow use of a thunderbolt accessory. Dell widescreen use to work fine before, but both machines are incapable of supporting the native 5120 resolution. Screen is scrambled and unreadable. Monitor itself is ok, after connecting it to a windows laptop it worked as expected.

If this is apple's way of getting us to buy a M1/2 I'll switch back to windows/linux asap. Nice way to **** on sustainability...

I am trying to connect my Mokin docking station that worked perfectly well until I downloaded the latest version of Ventura 13.4.1 on my MacBook Pro - Intel processor the other day. I do not have the "Allow accessories to connect" option under System Settings, Privacy & Security. I need to get this fixed. Any suggestions? and I've shut down and turned back on, used both sides of the MBP USB device inputs. HELP!

Hi Klairviere, I have not been able to connect my Garmin devices, and am having the same problem. I posted on here quite a while ago. Unfortunately Apple has done nothing about this issue. I have contacted Garmin, and they have told me the fix. But as we have older Mac Devices, after updating to Ventura, we don't seem to be able to complete the "Allow accessories to connect", because it isn't an option. In my opinion this is an oversight by Apple, and nothing is being done to resolve as yet, and it has been months. Quite frustrating!

Yes, your Mac Studio is not a Mac laptop so you are not supposed to see “Allow accessories to connect.”

Preventing accessories is not a function on Desktop Mac models.

Good to know, thanks for that info. I suspect it must be the USB hub I purchased. Briefly, if the hub is plugged in on startup, my bluetooth keyboard and mouse(s) don't work. I unplug the device and everything works fine. I can then connect the hub and devices connected to it work fine. I'll check with the manufacturer to see if there's an issue.

Thanks again!
