Apple Screen Time app limits not working

I think that’s best. Apple won’t admit to the problem or put resources into it. It’s dangerous for our kids! Should be brought public!

Totally agree. That is why our Provincial school boards have brought a large case against several social media providers but the problem could be avoided if Apple properly protected minors.

This is a terrible app which doesnt work at all. APPLE, you have to fix it !

It never worked, and Apple pretends not to see, I was told that not even Apple's software engineering knows what is going on.

Screen time not working is something Apple is well aware of but apparently they don’t see it as critical or it would not be outstanding for over 15 months

Also having the same issue. I’ve used screen time without issue for years on my children’s iPads to limit time. For the last few weeks the limits delete themselves and are not staying. Please Apple fix this with a new update.

No I have not tested it. Apple lost years worth of health data once. Too many people have the problem. It can’t just be our devices. Apple needs to find a fix. I have tried removing screen time from all devices, shutting all devices down, then restarting devices, and setting screen time up again. Typically this has worked in the past with any issues. Not this time. I feel like I’ve done that 100 times since iOS 16 to no avail.

I did this on Sunday and it has worked since.

It has been a pain to reset all settings but I’ve just been tweaking as things turn up.

you could try just turning screen time off then signing out of iCloud and turning off and on again and see if that works before you try resetting.

This sounds like a good idea. I will try it after my scheduled phone call with Apple next week. We downloaded diagnostics and all sorts of videos of the problems happening. She wants me to wait trying anything else until the engineers get back to her next week. Praying they find a solution!

I have the same problem. It looks like children devices randomly loose info on limits, which is pulled from iCloud. I did call Apple support and they basically suggested to turn screen time off and on again on every device. It didn't really help. I have a suspicion that there's something fishy on the Apple backend side.

I'm supposed to call back if it doesn't help and then Apple engineers will start debugging the problem.

It is definitely not her. I thought my boys had my password for a minute. But even after I changed it limits were still being removed. My kids have been so frustrated bc they have to leave their phones downstairs at night now. Hopefully Apple will have a fix soon! At least it’s finally a known issue worth the engineers! Good luck!
