Apple Screen Time app limits not working

Yes, block at end of limit ticked🙂.

I feel apple "16.6.1" fixed the screen time issue.

It works if you block everything. All Apps and Categories.

Also having the same issue. I’ve used screen time without issue for years on my children’s iPads to limit time. For the last few weeks the limits delete themselves and are not staying. Please Apple fix this with a new update.

I just posted a similar question without knowing it has already been asked(sorry, but hey, maybe more noise will get Apple to listen), I left a list of actions that seem to trigger it for me, can someone check this to see if at least there are common triggers across different devices?

No I have not tested it. Apple lost years worth of health data once. Too many people have the problem. It can’t just be our devices. Apple needs to find a fix. I have tried removing screen time from all devices, shutting all devices down, then restarting devices, and setting screen time up again. Typically this has worked in the past with any issues. Not this time. I feel like I’ve done that 100 times since iOS 16 to no avail.

This sounds like a good idea. I will try it after my scheduled phone call with Apple next week. We downloaded diagnostics and all sorts of videos of the problems happening. She wants me to wait trying anything else until the engineers get back to her next week. Praying they find a solution!

I feel bad that I’ve been taking my kid’s phone because I thought she was repeatedly overriding screen time somehow (there are lots if ways). 🤦‍♀️

She puts up a fight when I take it.

1. I let her know that she can hand it to me and get it back when I’m done or I will physically take it from her and she won’t get it back for x # days.
2. I take it when she’s asleep.
3. She has the option of giving me the phone or paying for her own service.

It is definitely not her. I thought my boys had my password for a minute. But even after I changed it limits were still being removed. My kids have been so frustrated bc they have to leave their phones downstairs at night now. Hopefully Apple will have a fix soon! At least it’s finally a known issue worth the engineers! Good luck!

Getting the message:

Screen Time for xxxxxx has not been available for 7 days. Make sure the device is connected to the internet and is signed into iCloud with xxxxxx's Apple ID.

(The child's phone is connected to the internet and signed into iCloud.)

It's very frustrating that Apple is providing no update or support for this.

I saw this information somewhere in this thread and now can’t find it. I followed these steps and 2 nights without screen time going wonky. 🤞 it was a hassle resetting all devices but if it continues to work it’ll be so worth it. Huge thank you to whomever posted it initially!

This was not the fix for us when we tried it a few weeks ago. I do believe this had us working for a few days though if I remember correctly. I'm starting to lose track of the half-fixes, logout/login, toggle-off/toggle-on dances we've been playing for months.

We're going to try Gidgehe's fix/suggestion tonight and report back.

I used the re-set steps on 2 parent phones, 1 child phone and an Ipad (all devices that can control the screen time) on 1/21 and screen time limits (downtime, app limits and always allowed) are still working (1/24). REALLY hoping it lasts! Tons of thanks to AndiWhitts!!!

It's been a week since I followed the "re-set iphone" steps posted here and screen time still working like it should.

If you haven't tried the steps AndiWhitts posted (on ALL devices that can control the screen time) I highly encourage it. To me it was worth it.
