Confirm MacBook Pro Password - my password isn't accepted

Since upgrading to Ventura 13.1 on my Intel i5 2018 MacBook Pro, I'm asked to confirm my Password so I can still use iCloud. After multiple reboots, the password I use to unlock my MacBook isn't accepted during the passcode confirmation process.

"Confirm your MacBook Pro passcode to keep using iCloud. This passcode also protects access to data stored in iCloud."

I enter my MacBook passcode and the window shakes "no". What am I doing wrong?

I had the same issue after upgrading to Ventura 13.1! got the notice and the little message at the top of Settings. I tried my iCloud password - shakes no. I tried the password I use when I restart my MacBook - shakes no. Restarting didn't work.

I logged into iCloud from Safari using my fingerprint password. Then I logged out and logged back in to iCloud, but manually typed my iCloud password. This time I got a notice that a new device was trying to log into my iCloud account and got 6 digit security code. I entered that and told system to trust this device.

When I went back to settings and clicked on the "confirm your MacBook password" message, I was able to type in my iCloud password and after a couple seconds, the alert cleared.

Hope this is helpful

I have the same issue. I tried the solution from @skitch82, however it didn't work.

I get a message to enter the password for <MacBook Pro name>, "which is not this MacBook Pro". But the name it shows me is the name of the MacBook Pro that the message is displayed on.

This is seriously annoying as I use iCloud to share data between devices. Now I don't know if access will be randomly blocked because of some issue with passwords.
