Using 2FA with iCloud Keychain
I have a website setup in the Apple Passwords settings (keychain) with the website address, user name, password, and 2FA verification code all configured correctly. When I visit the website, from mobile Safari, the user name and password are automagically entered and I’m brought to the 2FA entry field. This is where I feel like I’m missing something.
With 1Password, the 2FA code is automatically placed into the clipboard after automatically pasting in the user name and password, and I then just need to paste it into the 2FA field. With Apple Passwords (keychain) this does not happen. There is no prompt for the 2FA code or even any indication that Apple Passwords (keychain) even knows of one. I have to switch to the Settings app -> Passwords -> find the site, copy the 2FA code, switch back to mobile Safari, and paste it in.
Is this the expected behavior for 2FA using Apple Passwords (keychain)? I feel like Apple’s workflow here should be more seamless than 1Password’s. If this is just how it works (for now), then I’m happy to just keep using 1Password. If I’m “doing it wrong”, please let me how it should work and what I might be doing wrong.
Thanks!
