The part of my apple earphones that I plug in at the bottom corner of my iPhone, the adapter, heats up very easily, almost as soon as I plug the earphones into my phone and I hardly ever use them, I only use them about once a week and only a couple of minutes on every occasion so I don't know whether that's a warning sign, is it normal or is there something I need to look into fixing?
