Advanced Data Protection

Apple is requiring me to remove my iphone 6S Plus from my account to use advanced data protection because it cannot be updated to the latest ios. However, I use the device with iTunes and my Bose speaker system. I need it logged in to use my Apple One subscription. Why are you asking me to remove it, thus rendering the device I have playing music in my house useless?
