brand new airpod pros are glitchy and only work one at a time.

my brand new airpods pro’s that i got today are very glitchy. at first i thought it was because i was far away from my phone, but i realized that wasn’t the problem. they work just fine when i only have one in, but when i have both in, only one of them will work and the audio will be glitchy or just entirely stop on the other. at times, both will play clearly but most of the time i can’t listen to anything without them glitching/turning off. i thought they might be too big for my ears, because things like the noise cancelling feature wouldn’t work, saying that they had to both be in for it work but i’m not sure. i tried charging them, restarting them, forgetting them from my phone, restarting my phone, and more, but nothing worked. btw, the light on the charging case is always an amber red even when fully charged so maybe that could mean something?? i don’t know but i’m really upset, as this is my first pair of airpods and they don’t work!

Hi aliandersonn,

It seems you're having some trouble with your AirPods connecting the way you would expect. We have steps below that can get them working.

Try taking the steps to reset your AirPods as seen here:

How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro
You might need to reset your AirPods if they won't charge, or to fix a different issue.

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*

7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

That should help. If you're still not getting these to behave, contact Apple Support for service options:
