how can i install garageband on my macbook Air with macOS Big Sur 11.7.2 ?

I'm affraid it does not work on 11.7.2 (same problem here)

I understand that, when you have previously downloaded a version of GB, you can install an older version. However, I have never downloaded GB before.. what can I do?

Before upgrade to Bug Sur 11.7.2, Garageband works, upgrade to 11.7.2 Now it stopped working, Apple does not allow my mac to upgrade to v12 which current Garageband version 10.4.7 needs this. I could not use garageband except I have to get a new mac . this is a really bad experience!!!! fock fock fock. be caution to upgrade your MAC , otherwise you have to discard your MAC.

If you have a friend or family member with a Mac with macOS Monterey or later, ask them to create an account for you on their Mac, temporarily. Then you can sign into the Mac App Store with your own AppleID on a newer system version and purchase GarageBand there. This will associate it with your AppleID and you may be able to download GarageBand on your own Mac.

The current version should work with Big Sur. You can get it from the App Store.

Sorry, unless you have a friend that has downloaded it before, there is no way to get it.

Hmmm…..I might have a friend who downloaded it before. How does that work then?

You would have them use your computer and log in with their AppleID, then download from the app store.
