Good EXIF app?

What is a good EXIF app for Mac? I would like to quickly see the metadata of a bunch of images. Preview doesn't seem to get the right dates. The Photos app does, but I don't want to import images into Photos just to see the metadata. I would like to quickly drag and drop images onto an app and see the data right away. Thanks!

I've noticed that moving the videos (from my Lumix camera) from Photos to Files app reduces their quality (about 1/4 of original size, with visible compression artifacts). Now, on my Mac I think I've finally found what's causing that - it's editing the exif data of my videos (it's necessary, since they always appear 1 or 2 hours too late. It has a wrong time on it - LR export time, not the actual time I took the video. a) without changing anything, I drag this video from Photos to my desktop. The video keeps the same 99.7MB size b) I correct the exif data inside the Photos app. If I drag it to my desktop now, it ends up being compressed to 59.7MB (although it's still 99.7MB in Photos) Is this how it's supposed to behave?

EXIF data ISO value not displayed when using Get Info 16" MacBook Pro M1 MAX (2021) 32GB RAM OS version 12.6 When I use "Get Info" to look at the details of an image file, JPG, RAW, NEF, CR3 etc it no longer displays the ISO value from the EXIF data stored within the file details. It did used to, but no longer does which means I now have to open each of the files in Preview and inspect the EXIF details from within that application to find the ISO value. Please can we have this functionality put back into "Get Info" as it's a major pain having to open up files in Preview all the time to get at that data. Thank you, Howard.

(How) Can I Get Apple Photos to Display Metadata for videos? Photos metadata displays fine but video metadata doesn't. Shots from the iPhone camera app show the camera as my iPhone but the lens appears as "No lens information". Shots from e.g. Filmic pro either display "No camera information" as well or might say the camera is Filmic Pro, which is at least slightly helpful but I'd like to know what lens I shot with as while I can usually tell, it's nice to have the metadata to check or filter by. Shots from other cameras have no metadata at all for any of the shots. I can find some of the files on my Mac by searching for the default names but I'd love to be able to filter by the camera and lens to be honest. This lack of info seems to be in the Finder too, it is unable to search or use smart filters to find the files by their EXIF info. I can see a huge amount of information from my camera files about the lens, camera, metering mode, focus mode and more. Apple and third party apps seem to leave off the lens info from the EXIF data, which seems odd to me (I know by default Apple's camera will switch but one can turn that off and third party apps don't have this behaviour). Of course I can't expect photos to find it if it's not in the EXIF. So how can I get my iPhone and Mac to see the EXIF data in my video files? I want to be able to search by the camera I used the way I can with photos.

I use GraphicConverter and sometimes also exiftool (especially for movie metadata).

When you use Apple's Image Capture application to get images from your Phone or Camera, it will use the image's EXIF DateTimeOriginal key for the creation date/time on macOS. Without Image Capture, the images will receive the current System date/time stamp when they hit the macOS filesystem.

I use ExifTool in the Terminal, or my custom Python3/Objective-C application to display all internal image data in a scrollable window.
