Internet connection hangs and some application freeze
Hello,
Using a MacBook Pro (16 inches, 2021) with M1 Max chip and 32 Gb of RAM.
I'm on Ventura 13.1.
I've been experiencing a very weird behavior that I'll try to explain because it's getting very annoying.
It seems to be occurring randomly: all of a sudden, I will try to access something on the internet.
For example, I open a Safari window and try to access ANY website (like Google for example) and it seems it's trying to resolve or access the page without any success.
But this lasts for several minutes.
And during this time, everything is behaving very weirdly.
For example, it's impossible to quit, or even force quit safari.
Same goes for Mail or Google Chrome.
And anything needing internet access doesn't work.
Sometimes it will go back to normal, but most of the time, I need to perform a full reboot and then I'm good... for a while.
This is really annoying because it interrupts my workflow several times a day, and for such recent and upscale computer, this is completely unfathomable (to me at least).
I tried to understand what's going on by using the activity monitor when this is occurring, but it's not much help... I got plenty of RAM available and CPU is always pretty free, so that's not it.
Nothing suspicious in the network tab either.
For a while I was suspecting it had something to do with Microsoft Office, but in the end, I don't think that's the case.
So I'm lost... I don't know how how to diagnose this, and I don't know how to fix it.
Please help!!
