Is it possible that XR does not have EID number?

Hi all,

I had bought a second hand iPhone XR and found out that my phone does not have a tab to add esim. After counselling with the apple support team in Korea, I found that my phone does not have EID number, which means that the phone does not support for the esim service according to the team.

The model number is A1984 and it does have two IMEI numbers. What makes me wonder is that the support team in the end concluded the problem, saying that the phone did not have the esim function from the beginning of the release in America due to some legal restrictions from the corresponding state.

I just still don't understand why this is so and I, to be honest, doubt it!

Please let me know how you think about this issue.

P.s. I have to mention that I recently did migration from my old iPhone 6s to XR, which is I presume the possible reason why all of this happened... After DFU, the problem still persists.
