No pressure sensitivity on Apple Pencil

I have a iPad Pro 12.9in 3rd gen tablet and I bought a Apple Pencil off eBay, it was started as new and came in the original packaging. When I went to use the pen on procreate I quickly found out that there’s no pressure sensitivity. I tried everything to make it work and I mean everything. I even tried using other drawing apps and look no pressure sensitively whatsoever!

I don’t know what to do. Both devices are pretty new.

Do I have a faulty pencil?

Hello amareh,

Thank you for posting to the Apple Support Communities.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps first before testing your iPad and Apple Pencil again:

  1. Restart your iPad - Apple Support
  2. Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If your pencil still is not working as expected, make sure that the tip is installed correctly - turn the tip to the right to tighten.

You can also try to pair your pencil and iPad again following these instructions: Connect Apple Pencil with your iPad

If the issue persists, test your Apple Pencil or iPad with other devices. You may also consider a return if the pencil seems to have had this issue from the start.

All the best!
