HDMI STOPPED WORKING POST IOS 16.2 UPDATE

Hey I have an issue I can’t seem to find a solution for. I have updated my iPhone 11

(IOS 16.2) and iPad 6th generation (IOS 16.2) recently.

Now my HDMI with adapter stopped working when I try to watch a show off the iPad or iPhone onto the Tv, either I get audio with no video when on Hdmi with adapter or when I cast to the Smart TV I get video but no audio.

My wife’s iPhone 8 and iPad 4th generation work just fine when using the HDMI with adapter.

I have tried all the solutions I could find via google search and apple solutions.

(most seem to be solutions from early 2022 late 2021)

Curious if anyone else has run into this with the latest IOS updates. If so what did you do to fix it.

Hello, I have been exploring fixes for this problem since latest update as well. These are the steps I have taken to unsuccessfully resolve issues. Note I am using an Apple HDMI adapter in working order prior to update.

(1) reset phone

(2) checked connections

(3) updated software on smart tv

(4) updated all streaming apps

(5) tucked tail between legs and excepted defeat

It became clear after all my efforts that it most likely is a problem with the specific apps we are using. I was prompted by Disney+ to update my software. After both phone and Disney app were updated no problems exist with streaming. No other streaming app will perform even after latest version is installed. All apps have different issues from no audio, glitches in video, constant buffering, or inability to load at all, but all apps run fine on phone screen until the adapter is inserted.

Conclusion, I think we need to focus are energy in getting answers towards app developers instead of looking for answers from Apple.
