My iPhone doesn't ring when I wear my Apple Watch

What models are the iPhone and the watch?

My watch (Series 8 (wOS 9)) and my phone (14 Pro Max (iOS 16.2)) both ring together.

On your phone, in the Watch app, check here:

Scroll down to "Phone" and click it.

Is the watch set to "Mirror my iPhone"?

On your phone go into Settings (gear icon), > Phone. In here, is "Calls on Other Devices" off? If it's on, turn it off. It might seem backwards but after you read the description for that setting, you'll see that it's not.

Try those things and let us know if it worked ;-)

Correct! This is how Apple has designed them to work with each other.

You'll need to submit a feature request for a toggle setting by filling out and submitting this form:

Having said that my phone and Watch both ring even when iphone is closed.

Yes other notifications are either on the Watch if phone closed or on the phone if phone open, unless you do custom watch settings and stop notifications on the Watch in which case they are always on the phone. Design changes are difficult to get unless several million people put in feedback.

On your iPhone under the Watch app, then under Phone, you said “Mirror my iPhone” is selected. But below that is Ringtone sound turned on and it shows the button selected as green?

BTW I have SE2022 Watch on OS9 and iPhone 12 on iOS 16.2

Yes, mine both ring too!

My watch Series 3 and iPhone 11 Pro Max both rang as well.

The text notifications... That's a different story and I submitted my feedback several years ago 😂
