Logitech Circle View No Response

Having cameras setup for security reasons and not being able to see them is extremely frustrating and can be costly.

The only fix suggested is to reboot the cameras... too bad they are remote.

How do you unstuck these without physically pull the plugs?

Huge flaw Apple HomeKit...

I had the same problem, and tried all of the solutions I could find including dedicated 2.4Ghz SSID, and more access points closer to the cameras.

The thing that fixed it was hard wiring the Apple TV (only Home Hub) via ethernet to the router.

It has been rock solid for weeks now, and has not dropped out once.

it works for minimum of 10-30 minutes and a maximum of 1-2 days before going offline again. logitech support very quickly offered to send a new unit which I’m waiting for but this has to be some kind of bug, either with Home or the camera itself imo.

My router btw shows it’s connected to 2.4Ghz with good signal strength even when it’s not responding in Home.

I share all the frustration with you regarding Logitech's Circle View camera. It's frustrating when you need it most, the camera lets you down, when out of nowhere it stops working.

At the end of October this year, I purchased a Logitech doorbell camera. All my bets on purchasing a 100% reliable product were the disappointment of the Circle View camera. The doorbell works perfectly, I've never had any problems with it.

It was through your comments that I realized I had gotten myself into trouble! I did it all, or almost everything, and I would like to share it with you.

At first, she started having frequent problems. I deduced that maybe it was a little far from a hub (Apple TV, so I moved it and placed it closer to a HomePod. It was more stable. Shortly after, when I changed its setting to record videos, when I left the house, every time which stopped working.

I emailed Logitech and support responded to perform several tests and procedures to get the camera system working. Finally, they said they would update the Firmware, with the following description: “The firmware will be the same version 8.2.64, but we pushed the firmware to update the camera.”

As for the video that stopped recording when I left home, I realized that perhaps I was having a system information conflict. The IPad that was at home had the same Apple ID as my iPhone, so I physically left the house with the IPhone, but the IPad remained at home. So, possibly a bug occurred (this was just an assumption).

So I created another Apple ID account for the IPad. The camera worked from 12/21 until yesterday, but simply stopped working.

The camera is connected to a smart plug, so turning it off and on is easier because sometimes it becomes inoperative and when you do this procedure of unplugging the socket and plugging it back in, it works again. This time, there was no point in doing so. But when I manually unplugged the camera and plugged it back in, it started working again. Now help me think here, what is the point of this?!

The next action I will do now is to bring a Wi-Fi signal extender closer to the camera, because I read in some comments here that this could be one of the reasons for the instability.

@zen Turtle. I know your pain. Short summary: No solutions. Apple and Logitech will keep on sending the issue back at each other. I have been down that rathole. I have tried everything that both parties suggested. The only thing I can guaranty is that you are not the only one with the problem and that no one seems to know of a permanent solution or be particularly interested in finding one. You may get some luck by moving everything to the 2.4Ghz network. Full disable of 5Gh. but even this is not guaranteed to work or provide a long term stable solution.

Hello Zen Turtle,

With this being a third-party accessory, your best option may be to contact Logitech for assistance as they'll be versed in anything the camera may need such as an update. You can access support here: Logitech Support + Download

Additionally, ensure that your paired Apple devices - including the hub - are updated: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support Again to ensure any necessary software is present and current.

Cheers!

I do have 6 cameras, 2 of them are Logitech Circle View which does not work, 4 of them are Aquara G2H PRO, which is half the price of Logitech and works flawlessly on the same network - Asus Mesh Router, 3 nodes.

Circle View is the worst camera I've ever tried. No matter what I did, after few days max Logitech cameras disconnected and stayed offline until restarted (sometimes they woke up after few days of being offline). Avoid at any cost.

Zen Turtle,

Thanks for providing those additional details. If you've already reached out to Logitech, there are a few steps that may be able to help with troubleshooting the issue.

First, if you've confirmed that the devices are powered on, and your device you're working with has Bluetooth turned on, try turning your Wi-Fi router and/or modem off and back on. This can help with resetting the network connection with the devices, which may be able to help.

If the issue persist, the next best option would be to remove the cameras from the Home app and set them up again. Before setting up the accessory again, it is possible that you may need to restore them to factory settings.

If still experiencing issues after going through the steps above, the next best option would be to reach out to Apple Support directly from this link here: Get Support - Apple

They would be the best option to take a closer look into the issue from here.

Take care.

My device is the stand alone camera, plugged into the USB power adapter as supplied by Logitech. A higher or lower voltage spike could explain why it goes offline but I would think unplugging it (rebooting it) would then bring it back online until it happens again. In additional I would expect the supplied power adapter to provide adequate power. Since it seems people are having the same problem with both the doorbell and the stand alone camera it would bring me back to some kind of Apple or Logitech software bug.

I have occasions where I have to remove it from Home and then scan the QR code to add it back to get it working again but again the camera is still connected to my router.

Ironically the replacement showed up from Logitech and I removed the old camera from Home and then added both back into the Home app to see which one goes offline first. Would you believe it both have been working all week without going offline once.

I have 5 cameras and 1 doorbell; I have 6 WiFi nodes (Linksys Velop Pro 6E) with Cat8 wired backhaul, all nodes spread evenly throughout the house, and used the Linksys Advanced Settings to keep the SSID for 2.4Ghz separate from 5Ghz and 6Ghz. I have amazing WiFi signal saturation (verified using professional signal strength software). Everything worked beautifully for a bit.

Cameras and doorbell would randomly go offline... sometimes come back online themselves... and sometimes I've had to remove. reset, and reinstall in order to get them back online (a process that I'm sure many of you already know is a HUGE pain in the ***).

More recently, I've had a camera that wasn't coming back online no matter how many times I reset... so I finally removed and attempted to add to a new home, then remove, then re-add to the original home (which has worked in the past). But HomeKit kept saying it was already added. Eventually goes to solid green light no matter what I do (power cycle, reset, whatever), so it seems totally bricked. I reached out to Logitech about it and they claim to have forced a firmware reset on it, but... after I followed their instructions to power cycle and reset again, nothing is any different.

To make matters worse, I now have a second camera that is slow-blinking green, and power cycling doesn't seem to do anything. Am thinking I might try to reset it like I have others since sometimes that works, but... this is getting old, and I'm starting to think this product just wasn't ready for prime time.

The unfortunate thing is that... I'm losing faith in tech companies in general and am considering to just going back to life the old fashioned way, and just using that money for more worthwhile endeavors. If I don't have all the cameras, then I don't need as many WiFi nodes, nor do I need as much internet bandwidth, so... the savings will add up!

Anyway... if anyone is in the same boat, please chime in!

You may not know that while this camera is made by Logitech, it only works with HomeKit.

I contacted Logitech and they told me this is a know HomeKit problem.

The camera does not even show via Logitech app, so I have to assume FW updates should come via HomeKit?

So nobody is interested in taking responsibility for this?

Great user experience no doubt....
