Weather app layers not loading correctly

same issue on my iphone and ipad...frustrating...makes me keep going back to weatherbug

Remove and reload. The only thing I can think, sir, or ma’am.

The panels of the weather animation are completely missing when I enter the map animation. Zooming in/out doesn't help, neither doest restarting phone. 1 out of ten times I try to use it one or two square edge panels load, rarely the one that my location is in (in the center of the screen). Missing DarkSky app...

iPhone 13 Pro. Same problem. Precipitation layer doesn’t load. Sometime it will show one square with precipitationsbut never over my location. Dark sky never had this problem. Full bars on 5G or 1 gig internet. No difference. The Apple weather app simply does not show animations on the precipitation layer. Please restore Dark Sky until this is fixed

I am having the same issue and since it appears to be getting worse, I just uninstalled it. Also, the constant reminders to give it detailed location access permanently were annoying and obtrusive and unnecessary for rain predictions that were never accurate. Weather Underground is a good app for seeing live radar.

The purpose of integrating Dark Sky was to show hyper local and more granular timely forecasts. That the 12hr works but the hyperlocal doesn’t, clearly illustrates that this is an Apple bug — software, or server bandwidth — and it’s an issue that hasn’t been fixed for months.

still happening with me i have an iphone 15 pro on ios 18.0 they have not improved this issue at all, can rely on their weather app anymore for forecasts nap, i use weatherbug and it's much more efficient i hope they fix it so i can go back to using my regular apps and this issue has been like this since i had my iphone 11 so when i got this new upgrade i thought it wouldn't be a problem anymore, but it is.

Same. iPhone 12 Pro iOS 16.3.1Different zoom levels sometimes load random tiles but rarely-to-never the panel over my actual location. This was never a problem before iOS 16.3

It is definitely not fixed. Worse than ever today, even with the latest upgrade.

Same issue here on 17.5.1, over 18 months later. It doesn't matter whether I'm on 5GUW, LTE, or WiFi.

Same problem here. 12-hour forecast kinda works after allowing location always, at least at one specific Zoom level, but 1-hour forecast shows no rain while it’s pouring outside, at any resolution, even though the little location ballon indicates rain. The progress bar on top tends to get stuck when the data loads and eventually disappears, but even then there’s still no data being displayed.

This aspect of the weather app has been broken for months.

iPhone 13 Pro user here, been having the same issue since I had to switch away from DarkSky. If that app was able to get weather radar right, why can’t Apple’s? They felt the need to actually go in and shut DarkSky down because they wanted us to use their native app, but their native app’s radar never works. I went from having a good and reliable weather app (that I paid money to get!) to this. Apple should have waited till their app was fully working. Soooo annoying

I have the same problem on my iPhone 8 Plus in that the precipitation map won’t load. Sometimes, if I choose the 12-hour forecast, I will get a small square

of the precipitation map, but it’s never the square that is in my location. I’ve tried to reboot, but it does not fix the problem.

Please can someone from apple address the issue. It never loads the layer with precipitation. Its so buggy it’s unbelievable. Am traveling and it’s really pain that the services I need from my iphone never work. So disappointed.
