Why the heck would I not be able to just sign in…I’m paying for Apple TV monthly just bought two movies they clearly went through then all of a sudden my tv wouldn’t play movies just from Apple so I reset the app and deleted my info. Always forget my password when I try to sign in cause it doesn’t allow me to just connect using my phone n Face ID and now it’s giving me login issues. It shouldn’t be this complicated.

no biggie you think just airplay right? Well funny thing bout that is you can’t airplay movies BOUGHT from Apple TV. 😒

Prior to 6.23.2023, the app functioned without incident for a month after setup on a TCL RokuTV. Now, in an attempt to resolve a spontaneous "Unable to Connect" error that affected the launch of all TV+ programming with the app, the app was reset. An attempt to sign in again on the app results in repeated Verification Failed error messages. ALL other apps on the TV function normally except Apple TV+. The Apple ID login credentials are legitimate and function normally in other contexts. I'm looking for next most logical path of resolution to both issues.

Fixed the issue on my Sony TV! Not sure exactly what did it, but I went into settings and turned off power saving for the Apple app itself, and also found the airplay/homekit settings which I guess I hadn't ever launched or setup. Once I did that the Apple TV app had the QR code magically appear along the manual login and it worked!

Having Apple Support call me seemed to fix it for me. I could only not get in on my ROKU TV AppleTV app. It would start the selected program but once the initial add finished I got a playback error message. Tried deleting and readding the app and then I got error trying to login (again only on the ROKU TV), so I set up a support call and when they called, everything worked perfectly, was able to login and watch a show. Still no idea what happened, guess knowing they were going to call fixed the issue.
