iPhone Suddenly Gets Too Hot When Charging

I just charged it normally using Apple charger and adaptor like I usually do. It gets a bit hot when charging but that I know. This is too hot and don't charge beyond 5%. This is the first time this happened since the last 2 years.

I tried using my wife's phone, the charger in the car and plugged it in to an Anker powerbank.

Has anyone encountered this? I'm planning to send this to a service center, though it's going to be costly.
