System password every time I delete something

The Finder needs the system password every time I want to move something to the trash.

This has been happening since I installed the last update last night (macOS Ventura 13.1).

Does anyone know how to fix it? I can’t follow the "Permit Repair" procedures that I found in other topics.

Thanks!

It was a point update, and yes I have restarted the Mac several times.
At the same time I synced my Desktop to the Cloud Drive. Maybe it asks permission because it is a synchronized file? Can I disable this feature anyway?

Thank you!

and the result of the Safeboot as recommended above...?

If it is a sync issue— sign out of iCloud and back in again. Compare your results.

Was this the simply point update or a full Upgrade to Ventura from an older macOS...?

Have you shut down and rebooted more than once since your "update"

The issue continues in safe mode!
Strange things happened after yesterday’s update!
If I go in my user (MacHD > Users > mirko) the folder "desktop" is no longer there, now it looks only on icloud and I see it in the sidebar of the finder. And the "Documents" folder.

And you signed out and back in to re-establish sync...(?)

hard to believe you would have to enter your psswd to delete every time, that hardly seems normal to me.

That's normal. The files are stored in a folder in your User library because iCloud Drive is only a syncing feature, not off computer storage. Any file in the iCloud Drive is mirrored on your Mac.

If you don't need your full Documents and Desktop folders available on all of your devices then turn off the Documents & Desktop option. You can then just add folders to the iCloud Drive to contain files you want access to on all your devices.
