My Mac isn't sharing photos (with my browser, photoshop etc) in the separate albums as it used to.

I have thousands of photos on my Mac carefully arranged into various Albums/folders so that I can use for my business etc.

Trying to open a photo to process in Photoshop, I am now unable to access photos as it usually was with all the albums listed so that I can easily find the required photo. I now just get the whole lot (thousands) showing together with the most recent first, no breakdown list as Photos still shows when I open.

Why is this happening and how can I get it back as it was? I have updated my Mac, checked privacy and security etc etc.

Can't find a way to restore it as it was when I use Photoshop or try to load to Etsy. HELP!!

Which system version is running on your Mac? The system version stated below your question macOS 10.12 Sierra cannot be right.

If you are now using macOS 13 Ventura, try to call Photoshop from Photos, not the other way around. Can you select the photo in Photos, then pass it to Photoshop by using the command "Image > Open with .." and select Photoshop from the menu of external editors?

If you prefer to access your Photos Library from Adobe Photo Shop, use the search field in the Media Browser and paste the filename into the search field.

I'm running Ventura, and I think it's a bug. A call with Apple has confirmed that everything is set up okay with Photos and I have been advised to contact Adobe. Pointless, as it's also happening with Chrome and Microsoft.

I have found workarounds which I'll have to get used to. C'est la vie.

I usually open Photos from Photoshop and choose the photo to edit from the album I've put it in. But now I can edit in Photoshop from Photos with a right click. That's better I suppose!

I'm just a creature of habit.

This sounds like a bug that was introduced in macOS 13, Ventura, but you say you are running macOS 12, Monterey.

How do you open your pictures in Photoshop? Do you start Photoshop and load from there, or do you start Photos and use an edit extension from there?

Thank you. I am running Ventura and discovered that a little while ago.

I'll have to use workarounds for the other tasks I need to do. A nuisance but hey ho!
