So here it is February 4th, 2023 and still no solutions from Apple. The work arounds that Apple suggested also cause additional problems once you have upgraded to macOS Ventura 13.2.
After all of the previous suggestions in previous posts have been tried it has not been resolved. A clear indicator to me is that this issue began with macOS Ventura 13.1 (possibly 13.0) but I have yet to verify that version.
Apple suggested I roll back my macOS to Monterey the latest version. However, after doing so many other issues began. apparently after rolling back to Monterey certain services no long want to work. Such as Apple Wallet on MacBook Air M1. all due to security features that were only in 13.2.
Another issue I discovered in macOS Ventura 13.2 is that my LG Slim DVD Writer no longer works. As I did a search for others experiencing this issue it apparently is not the only brand of external drives that no longer work since Apple's 13.2 update. I verified my drive works by running Parallels Desktop 18 and Windows 11 the drive shows up there in Windows while it will not show up in macOS. Before testing it with the VM I almost damaged the drive out of frustration thinking I somehow broke the drive. When it is macOS Ventura 13.2 that has caused it to not function. The Host os being macOS messes with the VM-Windows 11 while Win11 sees the drive unlike macOS it does not access the drive for any use instead I am getting errors that lead to macOS Ventura interfering with compatibility.
My Printer an HP Envy 7155 Photo works as expected, my External 2 TB hard drive I use for Time Machine and other copies works fine. Mail continues to crash although, there have been a few days that no crash occurred.
So, until Apple releases a fix (if any) I am stuck using Outlook.app for email and I am without a DVD writer, I use the DVD writer to watch the few movies that are not available for streaming or in iTunes or other services.
I am beginning to think that other owners are correct with the M1 MacBooks Air/Pro that you should get one with at least 16 GB of Ram - as Apple's basic unit only has 8 GB of Ram with the release of macOS Ventura its beginning to be obvious that 8 GB is no longer a good standard. I was very surprised that Apple continued with the 8 GB of Ram as the standard in the M2 MBA and Mac mini M2. Clearly Apple is bloating up the OS these days to where the minimum is not cutting it. I don't use Stage manager for two reason the lack of screen space on the 13" MBA and the fact its just another piece of software taking up precious memory so for now I Have that turned off.
My use of my MBA M1 is strictly personal and I am cringing at the thought of possibly switching to a freaking Windows 11 or newer PC. Or maybe Chromebook or even Ubuntu. neither of those OSes feel good to me I feel dirty and unclean (is that a thing with using those? LOL) more like just in my head. But the bloat, the bad idea that Apple think 8 GB of Ram with Ventura and newer versions of macOS is good enough makes me have nightmares (not really) about possibly switching because I know all too well those other platforms bring their own kind of head-aches I have been with macOS and Apple since 1991 so. I am hoping Apple would at least fix this bad idea - and for me in the future nothing less than 16 or 32 GB of Ram for now on. - Lesson learned.
