New Mac Mini M2 has constant issues with wifi. Its unusable. Ethernet works perfectly, but when using wifi the connection will consistently drop packets. Wifi works perfectly with older Mac mini M1, MacBook Pro, Intel Mac in the same small office. I have turned off all other devices and still have same issue. Did a factory reset and same issues.

**Solution discovered** (but Mac MUST release a fix for this soon. Very unhappy with my new Mac Mini M2 Pro.)
it is a problem with Wi-Fi 6 routers that combine all the bands under one SSID (Wi-Fi name).
If you have Spectrum, their “smart” router doesn’t have the function to separate the bands and therefore will NOT work. You need to get another router and the bands have to be named separately as others have said in the posts.
this is an issue that shouldn’t be an issue, and I’m surprised no fix has come for this yet so regular people don’t have to become network professionals to get their internet to work!

I received my replacement Mac Mini M2 Pro on Thursday Feb 9th. I have been running speed tests and ping tests successfully off and on for the last few days. When I received my original ordered Mac it was about 3 or 4 days in that the wifi issues were starting.
So, what I did differently was not install Ventura 13.2.1 and so far no issues. I am currently running on 13.0.
I do not know if this is the culprit but I will not update my OS at the moment until it can be verified. I've already been out of work for a week waiting on the replacement.
As of now the mac mini is working great. Hardware issue? Software issue? I can't confirm either at the moment. I hope this helps.
I think I found the reason for my m2 mac mini, but still don't know why this can cause the wifi disconnecting issue. I kept an external ssd drive enclosure plugged in the rightmost type c in the past few days, today I would like to return this mac mini and I unplugged the external drive, then I noticed that the wifi became available immediately. I plugged it again and made my mini sleep for 10 minutes, then I wake the mini up, the wifi is still unavailable. After I unplugged the external drive and repeated the process for several times, I don't see the issue anymore. I have no idea if this issue is caused by my external ssd drive or the mac mini itself, but I decide to keep this mac mini at this moment.
This works with 5GHz wifi, however, it disable the Airdrop and handoff function, very disturb for my work.
It also unable to return the Mac after purchase in Hong Kong due to the Apple company policy!!!
Hope the Apple will provide the solution asap.

Run to the Apple Store and return it while you can. You only have 14 days.

Curious, what IP were you pinging when you weren’t using USB?
USB will be seen as hard-wired to the OS.

The cable you mentioned is being used by another device, not with the Mac mini. Currently, that cable is not connected to any device, so it should not have any impact.
Yes, I totally agree. The M2 Mac mini's should have never shipped with a design flaw that allowed Wi-Fi interference from video cables.
