Apple Wallet Consistently Charges Wrong Card

We've been having a consistent problem with our Apple wallet for several weeks where it charges the wrong card. We have two credit cards in the wallet, "Card A" and "Card B". However, no matter what we do, the wallet charges "Card B". When this first began to happen, "Card A" was already set as the default, but we troubleshot the problem: We followed all of the instructions to confirm "Card A" as the default, both by dragging it to the front of the wallet (that didn't work), and by going to settings and making it the default (that didn't work either).

We then deleted "Card B" from the wallet, double checked that 'Card A" was still the default (at that point, it was the only card in the wallet, so that should not have been an issue, but we still confirmed). The next time we used the wallet to pay, it still charged the (now removed) "Card B".

After that, we removed "Card A", so there were no cards associated at all. We re-entered "Card A", still leaving "Card B" out. This time, when we used the wallet to pay, with the newly re-added 'Card A", we got an error message.

Fortunately, we were able to use the actual physical "Card A" without a problem, so its not the card or the bank, the problem lies in the wallet itself. Thats the good news: we can still use our physical card, but we would like to use your wallet app for times when its better to carry less in our pockets. Previous to this problem, for several months the wallet worked fine. This problem started abruptly and has been happening ever since

Please advise.

I’m experiencing the same problem just that it’s on my Apple Watch and not my iPhone. 2 cards work properly on my iPhone. I have the 2 exact same cards in my Apple Watch. No matter what, the default card keeps getting charged even though I made extreme sure that I selected the other card. After selecting the other card making sure I didn’t select the default card, I proceed to tap my watch on the scanning machine. Upon looking at my watch, I now see the default card with the statement “Done”. It’s very frustrating as I didn’t not select the default card. This function as been working well for quite awhile except the recent few days. I think it’s an ongoing bug. I’m not sure…
