Music Synchronization

I’m only using one iOS device. What makes syncing necessary. I turned it off and now I have no library.

It’s syncing with Apple Music in the cloud, so you need to turn it back on.

Syncing my music library between devices I've deleted a bunch of stuff from playlists in music and want to sync the changes to my phone. I followed the instructions I found on support.apple.com, but "sync library" is gray. My husband set up Apple Music Family plan. Is that causing problems with syncing to my phone? I have the option to "sync library on my phone, just not on my Mac.

syncing my music libraries it appears that the only way to sync my music library on my iphone to my ipad is to do something totally old fashioned with usb cables and Itunes or to subscribe to Apple Music. I have been subscribed to Apple Music and I have a suspicion that once I didn’t renew, Apple Music cleared the library on the ipad. (I am not sure though). Anyway this is totally unacceptable. Anyone with a modern solution using the hotspot of the iphone and not being obliged to subscribe to apple music?

Music is not included in backups.

Thank you. I have a follow up question: Only have the iPhone Apple device, is it a good idea to back up to another device even if not Apple?
