Multiple extension icons missing in Safari on Mac

My Safari web browser is missing icons for five extensions, FireShot, G App Launcher, Keyword Search, Malwarebytes Browser Guard, Scribens. This is on the macOS Big Sur operating system.

Hi chyle771,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. If these extensions are not on, that would explain why the icons do not appear. Use the following steps from Use Safari extensions on your Mac to turn these extensions on.

"Turn on the extension

Then return to Safari to turn on the extension you installed.

  1. Choose Safari > Settings (or Preferences).
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the extension's name.

All extensions installed from the App Store are automatically kept up to date."

Cheers!

Hello chyle771,

Let's use the steps below to uninstall an affected extension, and then reinstall it to see if that persists: Use Safari extensions on your Mac - Apple Support

Choose Safari > Settings (or Preferences), then click Extensions.
To uninstall an extension, select the extension and click the Uninstall button.

Should that behavior still continue, you'll want to reach out to the extension developers: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support They'd be in the best position to assist with troubleshooting their particular extension further.

Take care.

I am suddenly experiencing this problem with Big Sur, too. These extensions - 1Password, Evernote Clipper and Capital One Shopping - are installed and working, but their icons are invisible in the toolbar. When my mouse hovers over their location in the toolbar, a faint grey icon-shaped patch appears, along with the extension name. In the Customise Toolbar interface, these extensions appear, but as faint grey blobs, not as icons. Uninstalling/reinstalling makes no difference. Rebooting makes no difference. Zapping the PRAM makes no difference. These are the only extensions I use which are installed in the Applications folder as Apps.

Any ideas?
