Turning Off Equipment

I have an Apple TV 4k older generation with a touch pad remote. When I start the Apple TV it turns on my Dennon receiver and Sony TV. Everything normal. BUT, when I turn off the Apple tv or sleep mode it only turns off the receiver. The Sony TV stays on and because it is on it starts the receiver back up. The only way to turn off all devices is to turn off the TV with a separate device. Been this way forever. I use a Logitec universal remote which is no longer supported. Any ideas?

Please see this help guide for more info: Control your TV or receiver with your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote

Go to Settings —-> Remotes and Devices —-> Control TVs and Receivers: This should turn off all connected devices when you put it to sleep. . Additionally if it’s a smart TV that supports HomeKit, you can add it to HomeKit (Home App) and can ask Siri to turn it off
