Macbook Pro confusing two external displays for eachother after sleeping

I have two identical LG monitors I use for external displays. Anytime my Macbook falls asleep and is woken, the OS confuses the two monitors and thus confuses their order. I've experimented with different cables, plugging them into different ports, and modifying resolution settings to see if anything would help the OS remember which is which, but in every configuration without fail Monitor A and Monitor B will be swapped after sleep, along with their settings.

Have read a few threads about this issue across Support and the broader internet many of which date to a year or two ago. Wondering if there is any hardware or software fix out there.
