Charge while using second monitor (M1 and M2 iPad Pro)?

Hi there,

So, I really enjoy using a second monitor with my new 12.9 M2 iPad, however, it does drain the battery. Are there any options anyone out there knows of for charging the iPad *while* using a second monitor? I know there is the Apple AV dongle, but that doesn’t seem to capitalize on the lightning 4 usb c port that the new Pros have…..Any ideas (short of buying a Magic Keyboard case which, I think, would allow this)? Thanks!

Many good quality monitors that support display connection via Thunderbolt3/USB4 (e.g., the Apple Studio Display) will charge the connected iPad/Mac over the single cable connection.

Otherwise, you might consider connecting both the iPad to the monitor via a suitable USB-C hub that also provides a USB PD (Power Delivery) pass-through USB-C connection for a Power Adapter.

Perhaps consider Kingston a suitable hub from Hyperdrive or Satechi - although there are others from which to choose. A Google Search for USB-C Hubs compatible with iPad will find a number of articles and recommendations.
