I have used gif animations in Mac Mail for years and they worked perfectly. Now with Ventura Mail they do not animate any longer. Does Mail in Ventura not support animations? Is that a feature they removed from Mail?

ADDENDUM:
I can duplicate your problem exactly. Animated gifs get converted to a non animated gif by the addition of an additional .gif extension.
HOWEVER: after running a second test I found that the size menu was not on the Original setting so the animated gif was converted to a smaller gif image file. When I moved the Size menu to the Original setting the animated gif came alive.

Upon further testing. Some of my animations I have had for years work, and some do not. This is on my 27 inch iMac desktop 2020 computer.
However, on my 2022 M2 MacBook Air all my animations work in Ventura Mail. I am wondering why some do not work in Mail Ventura on my 2020 Ventura 27" iMac. Anyone have any help? Thanks in advance.
Thank you so much!! I tried what you said and did the Actual size (which I didn't even know was an option) and the animation 'came alive' as you said! I appreciate this fix so much!!! Better than attaching a zip file just to say happy birthday to someone.... Thanks again!!
