Family Sharing - child account- adding an app
As a parent I don’t see where I can approve the app. The child clicked on “ask permission”, but I don’t see where I can approve.

Hmmmm...have you looked at If Ask to Buy isn't working - Apple Support (Apple's support documentation) on this yet?

It's been a while since I had this kind of purview over my offspring 😂, but you would typically get a notification shortly after the little ones ask for permission if you are the person who manages the Family Account.
Just to leave no stone unturned, did you happen to check your other devices to see if maybe the notification landed there? (I'm asking because I've had an issue lately where calls will go to one device, but not the others.)
Also, it's been a while since I've had minors on our family account, but I think that the minor can rescind/cancel the request, then try again. Do you see that option?
I manage the account and I don’t get a prompt to approve.
Yes, I have been through this. It must be another setting. I checked notifications to make sure.
