It is a random issue. It happened before when I had Monterrey and now it happens again with Ventura (running V 13.2). I create a mailbox, it disappears, I do it again and again until I give up. What am I doing wrong. My Mac Mini is running on M1

Are you running any 3rd party utilities like CleanMyMac or Anti-virus software? Are you using any 3rd party display management software? Just a few things to consider removing as a test to see if the problem is resolved. Also, if you boot into Safemode, it will look for system problems and repair many issues for you.

I do use CleanMyMac. Actually, I have been using it for many years even though some Mac users advise me not to do so :-)

I tried safe mode but despite following instructions, my computer doesn't start on safe mode. Instead it starts on regular mode. :-(
