Trackpad Stuck Depressed.... :(

Hi I've got an older MACBOOK PRO MODEL A1278 I believe it's a mid 2012 or 2015 model but I was using it norm left & when I returned the actual trackpad is now stuck in the depressed position (no clicking) & u can feel it's down & stuck. I'm not sure how to get it unstuck but am I gonna have to replace the whole assembly on it regardless & is it fairly simple?! Simple meaning I've done help desk support & I know how to replace RAM but only on Win Laptops as this is my 1st Apple anything. I tried clicking the center of the pad no luck. It'll move around respond just no clicking anything. I'm gonna try setting up a WinLogitech mouse anyone know if they r compatible?

It needs more RAM (4gb currently) running Catalina OS & I think I read it'll take & utilize up to 8gb total in the 2 slots.

Can I do both all at once or should I even go there?! It runs fairly decent now at 4gb but it does get stuck occassionally processing I'd like to help it out lol anyway advice so appreciated ty, ME
