messenger is selecting landlines

How do I get messenger from my mac or iPhone to select cell phone numbers when I type the person's name to initiate a text. It doesn't seem like I used to have this problem, now it is happening frequently.

Sometimes, when I try to text someone, the phone choose their "home" or "work" phone instead of the one marked "mobile". I send a text message, assuming its been sent. I don't hear back from the person, and then I check the message I see it tried to go to "home"! When we make contacts, we are forced to go to some trouble, including labelling phone numbers as "mobile, iPhone, home, work" etc. Text messages should ONLY go to a number that's labelled as "mobile" or "iPhone". That would solve the problem.

Voice text messaging hi I seem to have lost my ability to send a “Voice“ text message. Not sure if I accidentally changed some settings. Any advice on how to fix this?

Use this symbol to see the various choices. Then choose the appropriate destination.
