Liquid Detected Alert only in vehicle with carplay

Iphone 12 pro max, All other chargers work in the house just fine, even with after market cables.... I never get the "Liquid" alert , I only get the "Liquid" Alert message when using CARPLAY in my vehicle, and yes I tried a brand new Apple cable, no go. Sometimes if I reboot the phone, it doesn't give the message.

I'm fairly sure this is a software bug after reading tons of others complaining of the same problem.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities sirFrank,

If you've tested with a new working cable you can verify works with other devices, completing the following steps that address CarPlay issues may help:

Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps—checking CarPlay after each step:

1: Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:
• If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
• If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone under Settings > Bluetooth. Then go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on.

2: If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display and select it.

3: Restart your iPhone and your car.

4: Make sure that Siri is on.

5: If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.

6: Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.

7: Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS.

iPhone is always updated to latest ios.

1: Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:

If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.

Mine is always wired, Bluetooth is turned off on stereo, i've tried 3 different cables.

As soon as I hit "Emergency" selection, it connects and charges normal.

OR, sometimes I have to re-boot the iphone to get it to connect. Never had this problem until several months ago after a certian IOS update.

If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone under Settings > Bluetooth. Then go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on.

I never had this problem until several months ago, it just started happening after a certian IOS update.

I don't use Wi-fi or bluetooth in the vehicle

2: If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display and select it.

3: Restart your iPhone and your car.

I shouldn't have to do this everytime... it seems now I have to.

4: Make sure that Siri is on.

It always is on.

Again, this never happened before, until a certian IOS update.... not sure which one, but it was a few months ago... Thousands of other iphone owners are reporting same problem.... its a glitch in the iphone software!

6: Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.

Did this, but it still happens.

7: Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

I have the latest updates on Carplay
