When using Safari to access Netflix, I no longer see any images - only text and black boxes where the images should be. Netflix says it is a Safari problem. They had me reinstall Safari, restart my Mac and restart my modem. None of that worked. If I use Firefox as my browser, everything works fine.

Current netflix site uses AVIF image format. Unfortunately, the AVIF is only supported in Mac OS 13 Ventura.
I appreciate the free advice and did not intend any offense. I asked a question because I did not understand your comment.
Interested if you've found resolution...I have the exact same issue, probably similar timing and machine/system. I also tried clearing cache and DNS because the internet told me to, to no avail.
That is good advice but since I am not using antivirus or VPN, that is not causing the problem.
Any other suggestions?

What are you disagreeing with? I have seen no change when using Safari with Netflix making any of the suggested changes. I still see no images.

this is exactly what I experience too!
This will be fixed. Safari can’t read Avif file format, a format that Netflix uses. Future update may fix this. Ventura OS can read this file types but not Monterey.
